Complete an initial assessment at no cost to you. Finding a therapist is like dating - you want to confirm compatibility before commitment to a long-term relationship. Together, we can help you decide if I am a good fit for you.
I provide psychotherapy services one-on-one to individuals 13 years of age and up. My approaches are influenced by an insight-oriented approach that incorporates a variety of talk-based, person-centered therapies tailored to the client's needs, which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
We believe that everything starts with relationships. Coaching begins with identifying and learning to let go of fears and other forms of toxicity in relationships. Elliott would love to help you work through some of the blocks you are feeling in your own relationships. Elliott provides one-on-one coaching tailored to your needs to help you connect with people in a deeper and more meaningful way. Coaching will focus on improving your presence in the moment, letting go of expectations, being with another person, and your ability to have more genuine interactions with others. Schedule a consult with Elliott today to explore if coaching would be the best option for you.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy informs my approach to couples counseling. As a certified Gottman method Level 1 practitioner, I assist couples by providing research-based interventions to increase intimacy, affection and respect in the relationship.
My family therapy services are heavily influenced by a systems approach to family therapy. Family systems therapy considers the greater context of an individual's challenges by considering the dynamics of the surrounding family-of-origin (FOO). Together, I work with families to learn how each family member can accept 100% responsibility for their own behaviors and shift to new ways of relating to their loved ones. My approach to family therapy is also influenced by structural family therapy and Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT).
Professionally, I have completed hours of continuing education and training to increase my cultural competency in psychotherapy. Above all, I have learned to adopt an attitude of cultural humility across all of my therapy services, staying mindful of my privilege as a white, cisgender female, as well as the unique and complex intersections of systemic oppression and their impact on the individual.
As a Washington state approved supervisor, I offer supervision to associate licensees earning their Washington state license to practice mental health counseling (LMHC). Individual and group supervision services are available upon request.
